Born and raised in Japan, Shingo Shibata is a hair stylist with a distinct point-of-view that breaks away from tradition by focusing on larger-than-life silhouettes, textures and motion.
After finishing his studies at VANTAN Design Institute in Tokyo, Shingo moved to New York. He began assisting and soon developed his own practice, going on to build strong relationships with photographers like Charlotte Wales, Ethan James Green, Richard Burbridge, Michael Bailey Gates, as well as stylists like Patti Wilson, Carlos Nazario, Robbie Spencer, Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, and Tonne Goodman.
Shingo’s work has been featured in American Vogue, British Vogue, Vogue Italia, Vogue France, CR Fashion Book, Beauty Papers, AnOther Magazine, V Magazine, Interview Magazine, Purple Magazine, The Face, and W Magazine. His clients include Junya Watanabe, Louis Vuitton, Tom Ford, AREA, Addiction Beauty, KENZO, Dion Lee, Eckhaus Latta and Calvin Klein.
