Having started her career in Seoul, South Korea, Yumi Lee relocated to New York City in 2008. By fortuitous chance, she began working as an assistant to the legendary Stephane Marais, who mentored her and remains one of her chief influences.
She is known for her technical prowess, and penchant for experimentation led by a vibrant sensibility. Her work demonstrates versatility and a nuanced understanding of the shifting boundaries between art, fashion and beauty.
Yumi’s work is frequently featured in the pages of American Vogue, Italian Vogue, Self Service, Dazed, Re-edition, i-D, Double magazine among others.
