Jean-Michel Bertin was born in Bourges in 1971 and grew up in Bergerac. Jean-Michel studied furniture design at the Arts Decoratifs in Paris. After a short time working for a design agency, he took the opportunity to assist in set design on films sets and music videos. He quickly became a set designer, working on music videos and commercials, before meeting with photographers, an experience that led him to work on stills shoots.
Since then, he’s been involved in many fashion and luxury editorials with photographers Craig McDean, Erwan Frotin, Water Pfeiffer, Gregoire Alexandre, Harley Weir, Charlie Engman and advertising work for major brands and directors; Dior with Sofia Coppola, Harmony Korine, Vuitton with Romain Gavras, Hermes, Yves Saint Laurent, Missoni, Kenzo, Jean-Paul Gaultier... Alongside working with these prestigious names, Jean-Michel also maintains his real vision and taste for experimental and spontaneous projects to express his true creativity.
